Joe Parker escapes with relatively minor injury, but not his wife Alison. Alan and Cassie Jones lose their son, Timothy.

What happens next?  Is anyone to blame for this accident?

In this novel, Ms Jackson follows the lives of these three families – especially Hannah Graham and Joe Parker.  Hannah has no memory of the crash and worries that it might have been her fault.  Joe struggles to find purpose in his life without Alison.  Alan and Cassie Jones are determined that the memory of Timothy will live on.

I can’t write more about the story without potentially ruining the page-turning excitement which is a big part of Ms Jackson’s writing. Suffice to say there’s plenty of drama.  Some (but not all) of it is predictable and while the ending was a little too neat for me, I am sure many readers will find it satisfying.
