As I’m reading this article, it’s forecast to reach 41 degrees C in Canberra today, as it was yesterday.  In parts of NSW west of the ranges, the temperatures are in the mid 40s and higher.  Yes, we’ve occasionally had very hot days before.  But we’ve not often faced the threat of a loss of electricity because supply cannot meet demand.  And just what are Australian governments doing about energy security?  About as much, it seems, as they are doing about climate change.
